A preference is saved only when you press the Remember button. The record contains a format version, the language and the save and expiry times.
The limit is exactly 30 elapsed days from saving. Times are stored as UTC timestamps; the expiry is shown in your local time with its timezone. If local-time formatting is unavailable, it is shown in UTC and labelled UTC+00:00. Visits and language switches do not renew it.
After expiry, the preference is no longer used and we attempt to delete the record when storage can next be accessed. While the browser is closed, expired records may remain until a later visit allows successful deletion or you clear them manually.
Choosing Don't remember or resetting does not automatically save the preference again. If deletion cannot be confirmed, this page stops using it and shows a warning about other tabs and later visits.
Switching languages does not save or renew a language preference. This setting is separate from the tab-local navigation storage and delivery or security services described in our Privacy notice.
The preference applies only to this website in this browser profile. Private browsing, browser settings or clearing site data may remove it sooner. It is not synchronized across browsers or devices.
